The Drink Team is an amateur club, which means we play for the love of it and have a beer afterwards. We're also competitive and play in a proper league. If you can play a bit, turn up and pay your subs, there's a place for you.
Season membership
Wednesday, 8:30pm at Aladdin. Meet the lads and have a game. Message us first so we know you're coming.
Fill in the player form with a photo. It takes about four minutes.
Pay the 1,500,000 ₫ membership to the club: by bank transfer with the QR on the registration form, or cash to the treasurer. Instalments are possible by prior agreement with the committee. Then register with the HIFL and pay them 100,000 ₫ directly.
Collect your home jersey, join the squad WhatsApp group and put your name down for Saturday.
We're amateurs, but the HIFL is competitive and we want to get back into Division 1. If you've played eleven-a-side before and can keep up at training, you'll be fine. Enthusiasm counts for a lot, and so does turning up.
HIFL league and cup games are mostly on Saturday afternoons at pitches around Hanoi, such as Xuan La, Dinh Ton and Hoc Vien Tai Chinh. Every fixture, kick-off time and venue is on our fixtures page, updated automatically from the league.
Your home jersey, club membership for the season and live streams of our matches. Two things are separate: your HIFL registration (100,000 ₫, paid directly to the league when you register on the HIFL site), and match fees of 100,000 ₫ per game, which cover pitches and referees. Membership can be paid in instalments, but only by prior agreement with the committee. Speak to us first.
Yes. Plenty of Drinkers have been here for one season or less. Come to training, and if you want to play league games we'll register you with the HIFL.
No. The squad is a mix of Vietnamese players and people from all over the world. Everyone is welcome.
Astro boots or trainers (the pitches are artificial), shin pads, water and 100,000 ₫. Bring a dark and a light top if you have them.

Every player has to register with the league each season, including returning players. Go to the HIFL registration page. Use your full legal name as it appears on your passport, transfer 100,000 ₫ to the league using that same name as the transfer reference, and upload a screenshot of the transfer. The fee goes straight to the HIFL, not to the Drink Team.
