A football club called the Drink Team was always going to end up with its own beer. Ours is Bia Drinker, a 4.7% international lager brewed in Hanoi by our friends at Overmorrow Brewing.
Official beer of Hanoi Drink Team FCThe official beer of Hanoi Drink Team FC, brewed for the club by Overmorrow Brewing. It is a crisp international lager at 4.7%, made to be drunk after a hard ninety minutes, and again after an easy one. The words to the club song are printed on every bottle.
"Overmorrow" is an old English word for the day after tomorrow, and it sums up the brewery. They take classic beer styles from history and remake them for Vietnam today, using Vietnamese ingredients.
The brewery began with two university friends from Pittsburgh, Chris Jarvis and Gray Sutherland. Chris moved to Vietnam and fell for the language and for homebrewing. In 2015 the pair set out to bring both into Hanoi's young craft-beer scene. Nam Tran and Noah Tanabe joined them, and the founding team has roots in Vietnam, Japan and the USA.
They are experimental but uncompromising about quality. They don't release a beer unless they'd happily drink it themselves, which is exactly the standard the Drink Team applies to beer.
Brewed at Đông Dư, Gia Lâm, Hà Nội.
